Nina Smiley

After receiving a B.A. from Vassar College, Nina went on to earn a doctoral degree in psychology from Princeton University. She taught psychology at the University of Maryland, worked at the American Psychological Association, was Associate Director of Research at Porter Novelli in Washington, DC, and served as a member of a strategic planning group at The American Association of Retired Persons.

Nina has practiced mindfulness meditation for 30 years and is co-author of The Three Minute Meditator (now in its fifth edition and translated into seven languages), MetaPhysical Fitness, and, most recently, Mindfulness in Nature. Nina is Director of Mindfulness Programming at Mohonk Mountain House, a Victorian castle resort in New Paltz NY, just 90 miles from New York City. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Real Simple, Health, Prevention, O, The Oprah Magazine, and on CBS-TV. Nina has trained as a Level-1 Teacher in Breath-Body-Mind work. She delights in sharing insights about mindfulness meditation, Breath-Body-Mind work, and well-being – one moment at a time.
